Summary of meeting May 20th, 2010
Thanks to everyone that was able to attend and to those that offered their ideas and volunteered for upcoming activities. We had a great discussion and it looks like we have an exciting mix of activities for this summer. A summary follows:
Activities for 2010
Ground Activities, tour of CAM, Vintage Wings: These would be good for fall, I will work with Simon on these
Sunday breakfast/lunch fly ins. Half day flights. Beginning June 6th until end of August. destinations for June are set. This info should be on the website this week.
Spot Landing /Flour Bombing competitions, will pair with volunteer BBQ (or something else): we did this in the past and it worked well. Volunteers will be needed on the day and for planning. Late August/early September, the exact date will be confirmed once I speak to Brenda. A meeting specific for this activity will be needed. See xwinds Fall 2008 for more info on the past event.
Xcountry trip Western destination: proposal Killarney. An information and planning meeting specific for this event will be needed. Similar, to what we did last year for Baddeck. Some info on killarney can be found in xwinds winter 2008. This meeting will probably happen in June so people can start booking time off etc.
Other ideas: ways to get families involved.
Other than the above mentioned meetings, meetings will occur as needed. I will probably have another general meeting just to touch base with everyone. Please feel free to continue to email me with your ideas, suggestions and concerns.
