Frequently Asked Questions on the new online booking system
Can I run this system on Netscape, Firefox or another browser than Internet Explorer?
Afraid not at this time.
Trouble with Online Booking with Internet Explorer version 8?
Some people have reported difficulties using the Online Booking interface after upgrading to IE 8. We are told the problems relate to the higher security setting that IE 8 defaults to. The following link will bring you to a page on Genav System's web site that addresses this issue. Look for the section on Internet Explorer Security.

I have to click twice on the View Schedule button, to get any action, why?
We are told by the developer that this is a result of changes in the operation of ActiveX controls by Microsoft and it affects everyone using these control as part of the design of products.
When I try to access the system, I get a blank page. Why?
Are you using a browser other than Internet Explorer? If yes, see the tutorial information available here.
If you are using Internet Explorer, were you asked to allow installation of some pieces of software? If not, you will need to allow ActiveX controls installation. To do this, open Internet Explorer, select: Tools > Internet Options > Security settings > Custom level; scroll down to "Download signed ActiveX controls" and click on Prompt. Then Click OK. This should allow your system to accept the downloading of the necessary software. When this download is about to take place, you will be prompted to agree to download software from GenAv Systems or Microsoft. Click OK. You may be asked to do this a few times to download different bits of software. Be careful in downloading ActiveX controls from any other provider.
If you have done all of the above and still have problems, please write to webmaster@rfc.ca and describe the details of the problems you are having. In particular, if you run into a "Run-time error", please note the error number and any other details.
When I try to access the system, I get "Cannot access system at this time" or "Cannot log on to server" or I get a nice little icon of a rotating beacon and nothing else?
Most likely the problem is internet or server related. Please try again in a short while. This is usually a temporary problem.
When I access the system, I am not able to do a booking for a solo flight, or a rental flight, I am only allowed dual bookings. I have done my solo and/or am a pilot, what gives?
This probably just means we need to update your file on our server. Just call us or drop by and ask the dispatcher (or your instructor) to update your file to record your status.
Also, if you open your profile on the Internet access, you may see your status shown as "Student" when you are a pilot or some such variation. This is a known bug; we are working on it; it should not stop you from booking on the system.
Please read the tutorial information available here.
